I can live with the similar maps and sprites all over again but it really needs some changes to the mix instead of just a few extra stuff and everything copy pasted. Only Dark side really broke the boredom through its twisted atmosphere, actually letting me play "end game" races from start and some rebalance even if they still couldn't help but give access to humans as 2nd race. I personnaly restrain myself from tricking the AI which is why I'm still playing despite some obvious flaws but even then since the legend, I can say that I'm much less enthusiast. They even barely bothered fixing issues like AI giving priority to 1 HP ice shard in almost every game while you could shoot it or burn it to death. Same models, same spells, same units (with some slight update beetween games though for some reasons they sometimes drop more interesting ideas like dwarves with no abilities in first KB, then added some abilities in another KB and then take them off), same concept (duality mana/rage), a few tweaks to skill tree and port over of the world maps. No wonder that games sell less and less when 90% is just copy paste. Personally, I would've bought a King's Bounty that allow you to play as an Elf/Dwarf/someone new (I really liked different races in Dark Side even if they were bound to classes). Like I said, rights belong to 1C (the publisher) and they do not seem to be interested in creating a new King's Bounty at the moment. Devs were kinda offended by that, as they themselves consider, for example, the Snow Elves (who use recolored Wood Elves models but have interesting abilities and unit synergy) to be better made race than Vikings (who have unique models but somewhat boring gameplay-wise). Finally, there were a lot of negative feedback about different units using same model with different textures. In addition, DLC sold really badly in Russia (but alright in the West).
